Rick Pescatore, D.O.

Dr. Rick Pescatore is a board-certified emergency physician, graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and a leader in public health, medicine, and business. He made history as the youngest Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine in the United States and has held key leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Chief Physician in the State of Delaware during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he played a central role in guiding statewide health policy and response efforts.

 

A pioneer in gastropsychiatry, Dr. Pescatore became the nation's first-ever Emergency Gastropsychiatrist, helping to redefine the understanding of the gut-brain connection. His research and clinical work have been instrumental in advancing care for patients with chronic pain and misunderstood conditions, many of whom have struggled to find answers. He is also a member of the Rome Foundation’s Psychogastroenterology Division, contributing to global efforts in functional gastrointestinal and neurogastroenterology research.

 

With expertise spanning emergency medicine, neurogastroenterology, and public health, Dr. Pescatore continues to drive innovation in research, policy, and patient care, shaping the future of medicine.
